National Poker Gives Month National Poker Month Hosted by Poker Gives

Poker Gives is currently working on a huge fundraising project called National Poker Month that will take place in September 2010. Here’s how National Poker Month will work: Every cardroom in the United States will be asked to designate one day during the month of September during which they will host a charity event. Half of the proceeds from that event will go to Poker Gives and half will go to the prize pool. All money collected from these events will benefit Paralyzed Veterans of America, Special Olympics Nevada, Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, and the Step by Step Foundation. See schedule of events below.

The names of all winners and all participating cardroom managers will be entered into separate drawings to be held on October 4, 2010. See box below for list of prizes for winners.

Mike Sexton said, “In addition to all the goodwill it will bring to poker when we are able to present such large checks to charity, the participating cardrooms will be listed in BLUFF Magazine and we will conduct a drawing from that list. Linda Johnson, Jan Fisher, and I will visit the winning cardroom and host a meet-and-greet and a free poker seminar.”
