New viral campaign and poker tournament to raise funds for military families in need.

Las Vegas, NV (November 3, 2015) – November is National Military Family Month and to support our military families, Poker Gives – a charity created by poker players which is dedicated to provide services to military families in need, has created two opportunities for people to honor our military.

The first of these events is the “Pucker Up 4 Patriots Challenge” fundraiser. This is a social media campaign so anyone, anywhere, can participate. It’s simple.  Take a photo of yourself “puckering up” in support of the troops, visit the PokerGives.org website and donate any amount, then post your photo to any social media site tagging @PokerGives and using the #IPuckeredUp4Patriots hashtag.  Be sure to “Challenge” your friends immediately and call them out to Pucker Up 4 Patriots too!

On Veteran’s Day, Wed Nov 11th, 2015, join players for “Operation Add-On” at the Orleans Casino Poker Room.  For this one day, an Optional $20 Add-on for bonus chips will be offered in their daily tournaments and the proceeds will benefit Poker Gives.  Players will receive a tax donation receipt and a stars and stripes lapel pin for participating.

As we approach the holidays, it is often difficult for young military families.  Many can’t afford a nice thanksgiving meal, or to purchase gifts for the children. In support of the children, Poker Gives is hosting the Poker Jingle Poker Tournament on Saturday, Dec 12th at 11am at the Orleans Casino. The $100 buy in all goes to the prize pool. However, if you bring an unwrapped toy for a child 12 and under, or a $20 gift card for any retail or online store, or a $20 donation, you will receive extra bonus chips for the tournament. All the toys benefit the children of Nellis AFB in Las Vegas.

“Our mission is to provide support services for military families where services are limited or non-existent.   These brave men and women sacrifice so much for us, and this is just a small way we can help when times are tough in their lives.” Said Lupe Soto, CEO of Poker Gives. “Our organization is an all-volunteer group made up of poker players and community members who share the same goals. The poker world is a very generous group and this is just one of the areas of charity we’re passionate about.” She added.
